Muscular dystrophy (MD) is a disorder that causes progressive weakness and loss of muscle mass. After a while, this disorder limits the mobility of a person. This is a genetic disorder that can occur at any age. However, in most cases, this condition is diagnosed in childhood that is predominant in boys than in girls.
A person who has Muscular dystrophy will have abnormal or missing information in his genes. This limits the formation of the proteins which are necessary for the healthy development of muscles.
Major signs of MD
The most common symptoms of MD vary in different persons. Some might have problems in walking and other movements of hands and feet, while others might find difficulty in breathing. This can also cause loss of different body functions.
Ayurvedic Treatment for Muscular Dystrophy
In Ayurveda, muscular dystrophy is known as Mamsavatakshaya that is impairments of Mamsagni (muscle enzyme). The holistic approach of Ayurveda, scientifically tested herbs, diet, and yogic support, illustrates strong evidence of considerable benefit for children and adults with neuromuscular disability and muscular dystrophy.
Ayurvedic management of MD involves ensuring proper nutrition to the body and muscle tissue and precise the fire component associated with the muscular tissues. Ayurvedic herbs improve Agni, which is a crucial factor required to synthesize cellular protein and delays the process of muscle destruction. Ayurvedic treatments also maintain a good range of movement of all the joints of the body and strengthen them.
